The Northern Tourism Circuit is by far the most popular safari circuit in Tanzania, comprising most of the must-see destinations in the country. If you’re a first-time visitor to Tanzania, this is where you want to be. This 4-day fly-in safari will have you two nights sleeping in the wilderness of the Serengeti and experiencing the Serengeti migration, then the Ngorongoro Crater which supports a year-round resident population of mammals including black rhinos, and Tarangire National Park.
You’ll take a flight to Serengeti National Park, famous for its vast savannahs, breathtaking landscapes, and incredible wildlife. Known as the world’s top wildlife sanctuary, the Serengeti hosts Africa’s greatest concentration of plains game and the awe-inspiring great migration of wildebeest and zebra.
The day will be dedicated to a thrilling game drive, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife photography and close encounters with nature. After an unforgettable day, you’ll head to your accommodation in central Serengeti for a relaxing dinner and an overnight stay.

You will enjoy your breakfast at your accommodation and head out for the full-day game drive. The Great Migration is the most dramatic wildlife spectacle on the planet and there is only one place in the world where it takes place: Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Every year millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles make their way from the Ndutu region in the south of the Serengeti, across perilous river crossings and huge expanses of grassy plains, to reach fresh green grass that comes with seasonal rains as they move northwards. For many months of the year, the vast herds can be seen in different parts of the Serengeti. Calving at the start of the year, river crossings in the middle of the year, and the return journey from the Masai Mara at year’s end. This makes the park visited throughout the year. After the game drive, you will drive to your accommodation for your dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Serengeti, you will drive straight to Ngorongoro for the full-day crater tour. Another must-see destination in Tanzania is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, located in northern Tanzania. Thought to be the result of a volcanic explosion, this fertile valley is one the most beautiful natural wildlife safari destinations in the world and has even been named one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. The enclosed nature of the crater has created an ecosystem all of its own, resulting in some of the best opportunities to spot game. It also has the densest known population of lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards, and rhinos. In addition, there is a host of other well-loved African classics like ostriches, zebras, cheetahs, wildebeests, gazelles, and even hippos. After the extensive game viewing in the crater, you will drive to Karatu for your dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at Farm of Dream Lodge, you will depart to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with your packed picnic lunch. The park is located slightly off the main safari route. Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania. The park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania. Its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit. You will venture into the park for a matter of hours leaving parts of Tarangire virtually untouched. After an extensive game viewing in Tarangire, you will be driving back to Arusha for your departure to your next destination as per your schedule.
